Deputy Speaker Nmeregini Hails Otti’s Developmental Strides, Pledges Strong Support Ahead of 2027 Elections
Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and member representing Umuahia East State Constituency, Augustine Okezie Nmeregini, has commended the administration of Governor Alex Otti for its widespread developmental achievement across key sectors of the state.
He further pledged continued political support for the governor ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that the administration’s performance has strengthened public confidence and attracted growing backing from stakeholders across Abia State.
Nmeregini popularly known as Ugolee made the statement during a grand civic reception held at the Umuahia Township Stadium, organized by stakeholders of Ikwuano and Umuahia in honour of Governor Otti where he praised the governor’s tremendous impact on governance and development in the state.
He praised Gov Alex Otti for fostering strong synergy between the executive and legislative arms, describing it as a catalyst for more effective and responsive governance.
Nmeregini highlighted several completed projects under Otti’s administration, including Dozie Way, IBB Umuana Road, and Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, alongside ongoing road works at the asphalting stage such as the Orpet–Umuafai–Lodu–Ahiaeke Road and Okwuta–Bende Road, spanning about eight(8) kilometres.
He further assured that other roads, including Ofeke–Okporoenyi Road, Ukome, and Umuana, would receive the governor’s attention soon.
Expressing satisfaction with the transformation across the state, the Deputy Speaker affirmed that the people of Ndume, Ikwuano, and Umuahia would overwhelmingly support Otti’s re-election bid in 2027 .
He also thanked the governor for easing legislative duties through the consistent approval of people-oriented projects.
In his words, “We’re Happy to serve in your administration because you’ve made our jobs easier we can’t thank you enough people keep asking us what we’re doing as members of the house of assembly but the truth of the matter is that we’re working in synergy with the governor and that has been immense.
Governor Alex Otti during his remarks reiterated that governance should be rooted in service rather than self-interest. He assured the people that his administration remains committed to delivering quality projects across all sectors, adding that every project initiated will be completed.
Members of the state house of Assembly including the Speaker,national Secretary of the labour party senator Darlington Nwokocha and other party chieftains, state government officials and appointees , traditional rulers all trooped out in their numbers to support the governor.
