Umuahia Presbyterian leaders visits vision Africa radio seeks for greater media partnership to boost evangelism
The leadership of Umuahia Presbyterian church of Nigeria today visited the president of Vision Africa his Lordship Bishop Sunday Onuoha in order to intimate him on their plans to celebrate their second annual synod geared towards aggressive evangelism.
In 2023 the church agreed to go on aggressive Evangelism ,as a result of that the former south central synod was divided into three Aba, umuahia and owerri synod in order to achieve the objective of the leadership of the church which is aggressive Evangelism.
According to them achieving this noble plan of aggressive evangelism can never be possible without collaborating with media and publication houses.
They further revealed that the first newspaper in Nigeria was established by the Presbyterian church in 1862 which shows the vital role played by the media in propagating the gospel and therefore can never be neglected.
The church leaders lauded Bishop Sunday for his continuous effort in empowering the youths all over Nigeria and therefore expressed their desire to partner with media houses most especially vision Africa to actualize her goal of aggressive Journalism.
They further added that vision Africa as a radio station has always stood out as a radio station in promoting Christian faith and ethics.
The President of Vision Africa radio Bishop Dr Sunday Onuoha while speaking revealed the wonderful relationship he had with the Presbyterian Church while growing up and equally admonished them to never deviate but keep the Christian faith and tradition .
Bishop Onuoha a lover of evangelism himself maintained that mass media has been a great tool in propagating the gospel and for that reason Vision Africa was birthed.
He promised the leadership of Presbyterian church of his support in this year’s annual synod that a certain amount of time will be allotted to them on his radio platform to educate the people on their upcoming annual synod celebration beginning on friday.
He however regretted that he won’t be available to grace the synod due to numerous official engagements but assured them of his support of news coverage of the whole synod meetings.
Some of the clergies present during the visit includes dr Anya o Anya the exchequer of the synod, very rev Paul Alozie,the convener of this year’s synod meeting and a host of others
