The Senior special assistant to the Abia state governor on public procurement and Due process Dr Oluebube Chukwu, Mnipr has reiterated the readiness of the Dr Alex Otti Administration in ensuring that due process is followed in administering government services across the state.
He stated this during an interactive session with journalists at rapid fm Umuahia the state capital.
According to Dr Oluebube “Due process simply means doing things the right way.it involves making sure that the right channels are followed when rendering government services”.
He regrettably berated the activities of Past administrations in the state who neglected the Public procurement act of 2012 which would have elevated the state to greater height if put into use.
Oluebube however praised the governor Alex Otti for his sterling role so far in repositioning the state most especially in revisiting the public procurement act of 2012 and subsequent establishment of the office of the SSA on public procurement and due process which according to him works in synergy with the ministries, department and agencies of government in execution of government contracts and purchase of goods and services that have helped to promote accountability and transparency which is the core mandate of Otti’s administration.
On complaints regarding the amount of money earmarked for awarding of road contracts which according to many is being shrouded in secrecy when quizzed Dr Oluebube rebuffed such claims stating that anyone interested in knowing that should visit any of those ministries handling such contracts that the whole records are there Also,the quarterly financial reports of government contains those delicate information.
He further assured the people of the state that the administration of Dr Alex Chioma Otti is committed to restoring the lost glory of the state through ensuring that the right things are done at all times which necessitated the resursitation of the public procurement and due process act 2012 which was left in a state of comatose by past administrations.
Despite meeting his government on ground zero Dr Alex Otti is very much committed to taking Abia to greater heights and ensure that every citizen of the state will be proud to identify as a true Abian once Otti is through with his tenure.
He equally admonish the good people of Abia to continue to support the administration of Otti and shun naysayers who aren’t happy with the developmental strides of his excellency.
