Abia Community Chiefs, Village Leaders Back Alex Otti’s 2027 Re-election, Honour LP Chairman
The Abia State Council of Community Chiefs and Villages has paid a solidarity and congratulatory visit to the State Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Hon. Peter Azubuike, assuring him of their continued support and commitment towards the reelection of Governor Alex C. Otti ,OFR, in 2027.
The delegation, which was made up of community and village chiefs drawn from different Local Government Areas of Abia State, was led by Okenze Kingsley Egwuatu.
Speaking during the visit, Okenze Kingsley Egwuatu stated that the purpose of the visit was to formally congratulate Hon. Peter Azubuike on his emergence as the State Chairman of the Labour Party and to assure him that traditional institutions across the state remain fully supportive of the Labour Party administration in Abia State.
He noted that the chiefs and community leaders are impressed by the ongoing transformation and developmental strides being witnessed across the state under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, adding that they would return to their various communities to continue mobilization and sensitization efforts in support of the Governor ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Governor Otti’s style of governance has restored hope and confidence among Abians, especially at the grassroots level, thereby making it necessary for community leaders to actively support the continuity of the administration.
Responding, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, appreciated the chiefs and village leaders for the visit and their show of solidarity with the party and the Governor.
Hon. Azubuike stated that the project to reelect Governor Alex Otti in 2027 is a collective responsibility that requires the involvement and commitment of all stakeholders, including Chiefs , community leaders, party faithful, and ordinary citizens.
He urged the chiefs not to remain passive observers but to actively engage their people, mobilize support at the grassroots, and continue spreading the message of good governance and transformation being delivered by the Labour Party administration in Abia State.
The Chairman further noted that Abia State has become a “beautiful bride” in Nigeria under Governor Alex Otti due to the remarkable achievements of the administration in infrastructure, governance, and people-oriented policies.
He emphasized that Abians are determined to protect and sustain the progress currently being experienced across the state and would resist any attempt to derail the ongoing transformation.
As part of the visit, the traditional leaders honoured Hon. Peter Azubuike with traditional regalia, including a ceremonial sword, waist strap, and other symbolic items, in recognition of his leadership and commitment to the progress of the party and the state.
The Labour Party in Abia State remains committed to strengthening its grassroots structures and sustaining the momentum of good governance under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti.
