Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Passes Vote of Confidence on Gov Otti’s transformational leadership,Calls for sustained momentum
The Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has passed a vote of commendation and confidence in Governor Alex Otti, citing his impactful and people-oriented leadership which, it said, has repositioned the state for sustainable growth and development.
This was made known during a press conference held at the s Headquarters Complex of the organization in Umuahia, where the State Publicity Secretary Godwin Adindu, addressed journalists on behalf of the group.

Welcoming members of the press, Adindu described Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide as a non-sectarian global socio-cultural organization committed to the advancement, protection, and defense of the socio-economic, political, and cultural interests of the Igbo people. He noted that the apex body remains deeply invested in promoting good governance, ensuring security of lives, and fostering an enabling environment for enterprise and development across Igbo land.
He stated that after a careful review of developments in Abia State over the past three years, the organization observed significant progress across critical sectors, including healthcare, education, road infrastructure, civil service, and transportation. According to him, these improvements have translated into better living standards for residents and renewed confidence in governance.
Adindu particularly highlighted the construction of the Umuahia Central Terminal as a landmark project, describing it as an outstanding innovation that reflects the administration’s forward-thinking approach to urban development.
He further noted that the ongoing massive infrastructural renewal in Aba, widely regarded as the commercial hub of the Igbo nation, has earned Governor Otti widespread admiration. He described the governor as a symbol of the Igbo spirit of innovation, resilience, and enterprise.
On civil service reforms, the Ohanaeze spokesman commended the administration for ensuring prompt payment of salaries on or before the 28th of every month, as well as regular payment of pensions, noting that the development has restored dignity and improved the welfare of workers and retirees.
The group also praised the government’s efforts in creating a conducive business environment that promotes trade and industry, thereby enhancing ease of doing business in the state.
In the area of cultural promotion, Ohanaeze lauded the establishment of the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, describing it as a strategic initiative aimed at harnessing the socio-cultural and tourism potential of Abia State. It also commended the introduction of compulsory Igbo language studies in secondary schools, as well as the policy encouraging members of the State Executive Council to wear native attire on designated days to promote Igbo identity and heritage.
In light of these deliberate efforts to reposition Abia State and strengthen Igbo identity, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Abia State chapter hereby passes a vote of confidence on Governor Alex Otti. This is intended to encourage him to sustain his people-centered policies and continue delivering impactful governance,” Adindu stated.
He added that the organization would continue to recognize and support visionary leaders, as well as illustrious sons and daughters of Igbo land who distinguish themselves in various fields while promoting and defending the Igbo cause within Nigeria and beyond.
Adindu, however, explained that the endorsement of Governor Alex Otti has no political undertone, but is rather a form of encouragement to the governor for the good work he is doing in the state.
