Ajiri extols late father’s great virtues, labels him a development trailblazer
Prince Udochukwu Ajiri, the last son of the late Eze of Ntalakwu Autonomous community, Eze Prof Samuel Iroabuchi Ajiri has described the late monarch as a man whose dedication to serving his community and his unwavering commitment to his principles left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Prince Ajiri who spoke in an interview insisted that some of the legacies of his late father include kindness even when unmerited, service, and unwavering dedication to the greater good.
Recall that at the demise of the traditional ruler, his kinsmen in connivance with some officers and men of the Nigeria Police from Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia, detained, dehumanized and pressured his wife, Ugoeze Chinwe Ajiri to release every other document and properties the monarch had acquired while alive.
All strategies known to man have been applied to take away everything from the family, even when he is yet to be buried.
According to his son, despite all the efforts of the late traditional ruler for a united and God-fearing family, he became the victim of his own kindness even as he further disclosed that starting from the time he arrived back in Nigeria and up to his death, his own family, which he most regrettably trusted became the reason of his demise.
Professor Ajiri of the blessed memory had suffered a stroke allegedly triggered by the relentless frustrations inflicted upon him by his siblings even as sources close to the family reveal he was abandoned by them during his illness, leaving Ugoeze Ajiri to tirelessly care for him until his passing at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
Prince Ajiri revealed that he wouldn’t be any prouder for the strength his father showed through all the more twenty years he battled the strange sickness that later took his life, and disclosed that till his last breath, he loved his brothers despite their resentment of him, of which Jesus himself will be proud.
