Abia Labour Party SWC Visits Gov. Alex Otti, Unveils Strategic Roadmap for 2027
The newly elected State Working Committee (SWC) of the Labour Party in Abia State on Thursday , 7th May 2026, paid a familiarization visit to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.
The meeting, which brought together members of the party’s leadership structure in the state, focused on strengthening the party, consolidating ongoing political gains, and aligning strategies ahead of future engagements.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Alex Otti appreciated the newly elected members of the State Working Committee for accepting the responsibility to serve the Labour Party at this critical period of political development in the state.
The Governor equally commended members and supporters of the party for remaining steadfast and loyal throughout the recent period of internal turbulence experienced within the party, noting that their commitment and resilience played a significant role in preserving the unity and stability of the Labour Party.
Governor Otti expressed confidence in the future of the party, revealing that the Labour Party continues to attract increasing support and goodwill across Nigeria. According to him, more political stakeholders and supporters from different parts of the country are expected to join the party in the coming months because the Labour Party remains a truly national political movement driven by the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.
He charged the new SWC members to remain focused, united, and committed to deepening the ideals of good governance, inclusiveness, and people-oriented leadership which the party represents.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Hon. Peter Azubuike, appreciated Governor Alex Otti for his leadership, support, and confidence in the newly elected SWC.
Hon. Azubuike assured the Governor that the new leadership of the party in the state is fully committed to repositioning and strengthening the party across all levels. He pledged that the SWC would work tirelessly to ensure the continued growth of the Labour Party and deliver overwhelming victories for Governor Alex Otti and all candidates flying the party’s flag in the 2027 general elections.
As part of the meeting, the State Chairman formally presented the strategic ROADMAP developed by the SWC, which is designed to guide the activities, mobilization efforts, political engagements, and organizational structure of the party towards achieving sustainable electoral success and long-term party consolidation.
The meeting also resolved to convene an Extraordinary Labour Party Leadership/Stakeholders Meeting in the near future. The proposed stakeholders’ engagement is aimed at fostering greater unity, strategic alignment, and collaboration among party leaders, stakeholders, and faithful across Abia State.
The Labour Party in Abia State remains committed to strengthening democratic values, promoting good governance, and sustaining the transformational leadership currently being experienced under Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
