the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded Edo Gubernatorial election, the erstwhile Deputy Governor of the state Hon Philip Shuaibu has mocked Governor Godwin Obaseki describing him as an ingrate who bit the hands that fed him.

Shaibu, in a media chat with Arise TV, while reacting to the outcome of the 2024 governorship election in Edo State, boasted that he has been vindicated against those who claimed he couldn’t win the election.

Speaking on Obaseki, Shaibu said he does not see the outgoing governor as an enemy, but he is glad about the outcome of the Edo governorship poll, which ended in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According tp him, It is now clear to the whole world that Obaseki can’t win elections on his own, adding that the outgoing Edo State Governor has always been helped by those around him to win elections.

To add salt to injury,The Deputy Governor mocked Obaseki for not only losing the election but also failing to win his own local government area for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He appealed to Gov Obaseki to start begging and apologizing to the people of Edo State.

“I feel vindicated; even the governor couldn’t win his local government. I won my unit, ward, and local government. Where are the governor’s results? He has never won; we always assisted him.

“What is left now is for him to go back and start begging and apologizing to the people of Edo State and he has a lot of them that he needs to go and apologize to,” Shaibu said.

He finally congratulated Sen Monday Okpebholo on his victory and the same time reminded him to fulfill all the promises he made to the good people of Edo state during his campaign.
